Newborn Session FAQ

When should I book my session?

I recommend booking around your second trimester to ensure availability. I try to leave room for last minute bookings but my schedule does not always allow it so I definitely recommend booking early!

When you initially book you are securing your session but we do not book an actual date until baby has arrived.

When does the session take place?

-newborn sessions are done 7-12 days after baby is born. Unless baby has to spend some time in the NICU, then we will schedule your session based off of the release date.

I ask mommas to contact me before leaving the hospital so we can setup the session date.

How long do newborn sessions take?

Typically sessions take around 2 hours. Sometimes more or less depending on babies needs. But I try not to let a session got over 2 hours.

I also do not time my sessions because they are baby-led. Some are done quick and others need a little more time, both are totally fine.

Are parents or siblings included in the session?

Family/sibling images are included in the Full newborn package & is available as an add-on option for the Mini newborn package.

What do I need to bring?

All you need to bring is yourself & extra food for baby if you are exclusively pumping or formula feeding.

If you have a special family heirloom or something sentimental you would like me to photograph with baby please let me know prior to the session. I just ask that you don't bring the crochet outfits. They are always too big on baby and very uncomfortable & itchy for them. Often times they cause rashes as well.

I supply all the props, headbands, wraps, hats, diapers, extra pacifiers, snacks, etc.

Can an extra person come to the session, like grandma?

I only allow those that are being photographed to come into the studio unless they are there to help mom.
